The Elite School of Swimming is a family run business that was set up in February 2015 by Melissa Hewison. The Swim School has grown rapidly in the short time since the company was incorporated and now has nearly 400 pupils attending swimming lessons each week. We hold lessons for all ages and abilities around the Isle of Wight.
We pride ourselves on our exceptionally high quality swimming lessons with small numbers in each group lesson. This allows every child the opportunity to make good progress by building their confidence and technique in the water. We concentrate and work on the different swimming strokes and children are given different activities to work on to enable them to gain new water confidence skills. Once these are achieved children are awarded the STA Stanley Awards, STA Goldfish Awards, STA Angelfish Awards, STA Shark Awards and STA Advanced Awards as well as the STA Distance Awards. This is a great way to reward our children’s achievements in the pool!
We are currently running on a Saturday morning in Ryde, on the East side of the Isle of Wight. These lessons are small groups and are held in a lovely warm pool where parents are able to watch on poolside.
We treat all our families personally and we care about the progress children make in their lessons. Our friendly and nurturing approach to our children and parents is our way of helping even the most nervous swimmers feel at ease in the pool.
In November 2017, Melissa, was nominated for the Venus Women in Business awards throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Melissa attended the Awards and won the overall Venus Award for Customer Service. She now goes forward to the National Awards. Melissa said ‘To win the 2017 Hampshire Venus Women in business award for customer service means so much to me and my staff. To be recognised by Venus is fantastic but above all I am so very grateful for all our customers who voted for me. Great Customer Service is vital as it will make or break a new business especially on the Island where business is conducted within a close knit community.’
